Another Teen Charged as Melbourne Stabbing Victim’s Tragic Death Sparks Fresh Outrage

A third teenager has been charged by Victoria Police in connection with the alleged fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old boy in Melbourne, a case that has rocked the local community and raised urgent questions about youth violence in the state.

The accused, also a minor, is the latest person to face legal action following the incident that occurred earlier this month in the southeastern suburb of Hampton Park. Authorities allege the victim was stabbed multiple times and then left to die at the scene, without any attempts to seek medical assistance.

According to court documents, the teenager was found by emergency responders suffering from critical stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries. Police have described the alleged attack as “savage and cowardly,” prompting a swift and extensive investigation.

Victoria Police’s Homicide Squad detectives arrested the third suspect on Wednesday, charging him with murder and affray. He is expected to face a children’s court hearing later this week. The two other teenagers charged earlier remain in custody and have not yet entered pleas.

Community leaders and youth advocacy groups in Victoria have expressed deep concern over the trend of teenage knife violence, calling for more targeted interventions and stronger support systems in schools and neighborhoods. “This is not just a criminal matter; it’s a community tragedy,” one local councillor said.

The case has also reignited debate in Victoria about knife crime laws and the adequacy of the youth justice system in dealing with violent offences. As the investigation continues, police are not ruling out further arrests. The names of all accused and the victim cannot be published for legal reasons.
