In a strategic shift that underscores its growing engineering ambitions, India is reportedly leaning towards deploying domestically developed high-speed rail technology for the flagship Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor, rather than relying entirely on foreign imports. The 508-kilometer project, long touted as a showcase of Indo-Japanese cooperation, was initially set to adopt Japan’s Shinkansen system.
